Turning A Trickle Into A Flowing River
On Tuesday night, May 19, 2009, I received a vision from the Lord. The week prior, at our house, we had a section of our back lawn that was not getting water from our automatic sprinkler system. There were two to three hundred square feet of grass that was looking really parched. In the vision, I saw myself attempting to water the parched grass on a hot summer day. The hose that I was using only had a trickle of water coming out the end of it. By the time I got from one end of the grass to the other it was time to go back and start all over again. Then all at once I saw the water begin to gush out of the hose and what a difference it made. Then I saw how we Christians have had a trickle of the blessings of God and mistook it for the gushing out that God desires for us, which is revealed in the Bible. I saw a vision of a flood of the blessings of God pouring forth through us to a thirsty world. I saw the blessings of the fruit of the Spirit, the blessings of being filled with the Holy Spirit followed by divine healing and miracles, as well as the other gifts of the Spirit (Doing the works of Jesus, and the greater works - John 14:12). Also included were the material blessings of the Abrahamic covenant (supernatural increase of wealth and riches). Each one of these blessings in the vision was gushing out from the spirit of the believer.
The message is that we have been satisfied with a trickle, but God is not. God’s plan is for a flooding of His blessings through us to bless the world and fulfill the great commission. Imagine a fire hydrant flood shooting out of your belly to a spiritually dry and thirsty world. In this vision, I saw what we look like when God’s will is fulfilled in our lives. Whenever we take a step back from God, it is like crimping a garden hose until only trickle comes out the end of it.
John 7:37 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
